Rain drum Electronics 2026
Currently, the working idea is to take the frequencies from the rain drum hit by drops of water for an indeterminate amount of time to trigger effects or events in Max/MSP over time.

The off - brand Arduino board is set up to send pressure data to max so that when the water rises to a certain level, the composition can move towards an ending organically.

In addition to this, I feel as though a theremin - esc instrument would provide a nice timbral addition to the rain drum, so I took apart an old Teisco guitar for its pickup and I'll try to get something going with that.

While I haven't yet achieved that theremin sound, I found that if you take some guitar strings, you can (outside of the obvious strumming or flicking) drag the string across the magnets for a gurgling, or water - esc effect.
